Chambliss & Rabil Contractors, Inc. will construct the 10,000-square-foot building, which will mirror the existing building just across the way that is home to The Joyce Bar & Restaurant, Flights Wine & Beer, Legacy Homes by Bill Clark and Swell Vision Center.

According to Alan Kerry, president of Lord Baltimore Properties, two tenants have been confirmed for the new building: Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar, a well-known, regional oyster bar chain with locations in Carolina Beach, downtown Wilmington and Surf City; and AM Deli, a diner that will offer breakfast and lunch. On the second floor, an open space is being considered as a multipurpose room for current and future Brunswick Forest residents for gatherings and socials. About 2,000 square feet of commercial space is still available in the new building, but Kerry expects them to be leased in the next month or so.

The building is slated to be finished by the end of 2017, and tenants will begin opening by the first of 2018.
